With the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show fast approaching, Jeddah Yacht Club has recently announced its sponsorship of the Captains & Crew Lounge. Here’s why Saudi Arabia’s new marina is one to keep an eye on in the coming months…

Taking place from September 28 - October 1, the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show will showcase the most exciting superyachts launched in the past year. Visitors will be descending on Port Hercule in late September to see exhibitions from some of the biggest names in the yachting industry, including Azimut, Benetti, Sunseeker, Gulf Craft, among many others.

If you’re attending as a captain or crew member, then the Captain & Crew Lounge will serve as your private haven during the show. In partnership with Jeddah Yacht Club, the lounge offers exclusive amenities, including:

  • relaxation area with entertainment, games, refreshments and wifi
  • breakfast and lunch service
  • wellness treatments
  • specially provided shuttle boat

Jeddah Yacht Club: The New Player in the Luxury Yacht Space

It’s only fitting, then, that the lounge is brought to you by Jeddah Yacht Club. The amenities on offer to crew at Monaco Yacht Show are mirrored by Saudi Arabia’s new state-of-the-art facilities on the glittering coast of the Red Sea.

Despite only officially opening in March, the brand-new yacht club has already put itself on the map. Late last year the marina welcomed its first yachts into berth ahead of the inaugural Saudi Arabian F1 Grand Prix, which took place right next door at the world-renowned Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

Designed with luxury in mind, the marina is a first-of-its-kind along the Red Sea coast, fit to accommodate over 100 superyachts and mega yachts of up to 100 metres LOA. In addition, the yacht club provides access to several world-class facilities, previously unavailable in the region:

  • a luxury beach club in partnership with OMNIA
  • the Social House restaurant curated by Michelin Star chef Jason Atherton
  • RIVA Sky Lounge and Cigar Bar
  • dedicated Wellness Centre, with gym providing spectacular views of the Red Sea
  • spa treatments at the JYC Hamman
  • the JYC Academy, with facilities for all water sports – including diving, kayaking, fishing, and boating
  • business centre
  • concierge services

The Red Sea is also home to incredible natural beauty, with picturesque sunsets, a temperate climate and vivid blue waters – teeming with tropical fish and some of the most impressive coral in the world – making it the ideal locale for superyacht owners looking to experience something new and different.

With Saudia Arabia investing huge amounts into all areas of its economy – around $7 trillion pledged by the end of the decade – expect to see considerable growth in the region in the coming years. Jeffrey Maaraoui of Sea Pros, a company which promotes a number of luxury motoryacht brands in the region, agrees:

Along with its strategic location halfway between the Mediterranean and Asia, Jeddah Yacht Club seems poised to become the next big superyacht destination.

XXXX from Jeddah Yacht Club said: “We’re developing rapidly but we need to tell the superyacht world how far we’ve come and also where we’re going in the near future. Sponsoring the Captains & Crew Lounge at the most prestigious Yacht Show in the world is an ideal way for us to meet and connect with the people that matter, and to show them what we have to offer.”
